New Zealand, Day #9 & 10 - Takapuna Beach, Omaha Beach, Matakana

Monday, February 26, 2018:
We had a really nice morning at home this day. We made breakfast, did laundry, watched a movie, and uploaded pictures from everyone's devices. After our chill time we got ready for the beach but had some shopping to do before we went. We needed a chiller (cooler), drinks and snacks to put in the chiller, some sunscreen, and an umbrella or something for shade. We went to Countdown in downtown Auckland but they didn't have beach stuff so we stopped at a Warehouse closer to the beach. We ended up getting a pop up shade thing but didn't use it this day because it was about 3:30PM by the time we got to the beach and clouds were blocking the sun off and on.


It was end of their summer when we went so it wasn't super hot. With the sun this was a nice temperature but I do like HOT HOT weather. This 0% beer was actually pretty good but had to be ice cold. The boys went to five stores looking for it for me. 💜😊


We stayed at the beach until we hoped rush hour was almost done. We made a stop on the way home for some groceries as Nisha was making dinner that night. Tarun's friend from school lives in Auckland with his girlfriend so we had them over for dinner. They were super sweet people, I hope to see them again soon.

Tuesday, February 27, 2018:
Tuesday we had another nice chill morning but got moving a bit earlier lol. The previous day was a bit too late for the beach and I needed more sunshine!

We headed out with Nisha's friend to Omaha Beach in Matakana, which is just over an hour north of Auckland. This beach was so quiet and the sand was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better beach day.

We were at the beach for a few hours and had to get back for dinner plans. We stopped in the town of Matakana but basically everything closed at 5PM. Welcome to small town New Zealand haha.

After getting back to Aman and Nisha's we washed up and got ready to go to their friend's place for her birthday. Her friend's boyfriend and his mom made some delicious Indian food for dinner and everyone was so welcoming and a lot of fun. I love being around funny people, makes for such a good time!

It wasn't a late night since everyone but us had to work the next day lol. The perks of being on vacation! 😁 I blogged for a bit at home before calling it a night. We were up early the next morning to head to Kaitaia and Cape Reinga.

So last year I went to New Zealand so I wasn't able to go with the chicas to Mexico. I was joking around with my aunt about taking a cardboard cutout of me and she actually did! I  honestly thought that they would take a few pictures and I'd get left in the room but man they showed cardboard Kelsey a good time! Salvador made us a sign. Trying on Lorna's earrings. Jewelry shopping on the beach! Apparently Ricardo and I met last year lol. Anahi's! They left me in Salvador's care but he didn't know where it was when I went this year lol.

Hello everyone! I decided to make a travel blog as I have gone on a few trips and my boyfriend and I are already discussing where we want to go next. New Zealand, Day #1 - Arrival, Long Bay Beach, Muriwai Beach

Friday, February 16, 2018: I left this crappy weather for the warmer climate of New Zealand with my boyfriend to visit his sister and her husband. We flew to Calgary from Winnipeg, then to Vancouver, and then the long stretch of 14 hours to Auckland. The above picture was at the Vancouver airport. I love aquariums! We bought these cool boarding pass and passport holders at Bentley. As we had a pile of boarding passes with three flights and they were on sale for $8! Air New Zealand had some pretty wicked food. Dinner was this paneer and mixed veg with rice, a green salad, fresh fruit, a whole wheat bun, and cheese and crackers. I ate mostly everything for dinner and saved the cheese and crackers for a snack. Breakfast was more Indian food (which I love) of paneer and chick peas with mini naan bread, fresh fruit, and a yogurt. We arrived at the Auckland airport at around 5:30AM Auckland time - which is 19 hours ahead of home. So we

Mexico 2019, Day #1 - La Penita

March 2 & 3, Saturday and Sunday Well, I've been home for a week and I've had plenty of naps so I guess it's time to blog about my trip. For some reason I was absolutely exhausted after getting home from this trip. I don't think I was this tired after travelling from New Zealand and that was an even longer travel time lol. I missed out on this trip with the ladies last year because I was in New Zealand. Now, I know how amazing it was that I was in New Zealand but it was really hard not to feel like I was missing out because these ladies are THAT fun. They actually took a cardboard cut-out of me last year and showed me a good time. Here are the pictures from that. Calgary airport has doggos that you can pet and cuddle with.
